Lorne has spent his career working in B.C. from Prince Rupert to the Okanagan. Lorne is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys Fishing. Lorne has diverse experience within his safety role. His work career began with the mining industry where while working in engineering he was involved with the Mine Recue team and Volunteer Firefighting roles. His next Challenge was working in the Sawmill Industry where he facilitated Behavior Based Safety programs, and construction safety. In 2008 he joined Pinnacle Renewable Energy a World leader in the production of Biofuel. As Director of Safety, Lorne oversaw 6 operating plants and a port facility, he developed programs to achieve core certification, injury reduction, contractor management, and combustible dust management. The process experience of fire protection systems, spark detection systems, explosion protection and their limitations will assist Lorne in his new role.
In 2016 Lorne has joined the Manufacturing Safety Alliance of BC in the role of Safety Specialist Combustible Dust.
Lorne has a diploma in Civil Engineering Technology from Okanagan College and has continued to expand his knowledge of occupational health and safety through distance learning courses offered through BCIT, and Dalhousie University.
