The Soaring Eagle Leadership Award is presented to a business owner or senior executive leader (your organization’s president, CEO, or senior executive in B.C.) who demonstrates exemplary and inspiring leadership that includes commitment to health and safety. For centuries, people have seen eagles as a symbol of courage, honour, pride, determination, and grace. While leaders face many challenges , how they tackle those challenges and support their teams define their leadership.

Eligibility

Awarded to a senior executive leader or business owner.

Criteria

Nominators are encouraged to submit supporting materials such as a sample of recent committee minutes or a video if available. Nominators may also be asked to supply additional supporting information, such as WorkSafeBC data for the past 1 to 3 years, to support the judging process. Companies that have experienced a serious injury or fatality in the past two years may be excluded from consideration at the judges’ discretion.

Nominations

Any member or OSSE-certified company may nominate an individual for this award.

Judging

Winner is selected based on the award criteria by a committee nominated by the Alliance.

Award

Winner and finalists were announced at the Safety Pinnacle Awards Gala in June 2023. Winner are awarded a crystal trophy and interviewed and recognized in an Alliance publication. Winner may also be engaged to participate in media and promotional opportunities to highlight their commitment (and their organization’s commitment) to health and safety.
