At the Manufacturing Safety Alliance of BC, our goal is to make the manufacturing industry a safer place to work by creating a culture of safety that brings every worker returned home safely to their family every night. As a not-for-profit industry organization passionate about what we do and how we impact people every day, we serve a demographic of more than 2500 manufacturers in BC and employ a professional team of specialists to support our members. We deliver a range of occupational health & safety advisory services, resources, training, and provide the Occupational Safety Standard of Excellence certification program for the manufacturing industry.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Event Planning and Execution: Plan and organize simple and complex events from concept to post-event analysis, in collaboration with MSABC team. You’ll be knee deep in the details, managing event logistics (including organization of internal planning meetings, updates, staff assignments and scheduling, event binders, sponsorship, entertainment, speakers, emcee) and budgets, using project management principals and protocols to ensure expectations for success are met with every event.
  • Social Media and Content Development:  You’ll track media and social media performance, and assist in analyzing marketing performance and demographic data to help shape future marketing strategies.
  • Sponsorship Development:  Collaboration with Marketing and Training staff to identify sponsorship opportunities and new business or revenue-generating events and initiatives will be key to success.
  • Marketing Team Contribution: Attend Marketing department meetings and actively participate in providing updates, planning and strategizing to address issues of workflow, communication and deliverables.

Who You Are

  • Experienced and Educated.  You bring five to ten years’ experience as an event planner, project manager, event marketer, or marketing coordinator at an association, corporation, or marketing agency. A degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Liberal Arts and/or Event Planning certification is preferred.
  • A Conference and Events Pro:  Leading and executing complex professional conference or B2B events and virtual conferences including budget management is second nature to you.
  • Technically Savvy: Advanced editing abilities and digital presentation skills are your forte, along with proficiency with MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and CRM; applications for email marketing, content management, analytic and digital advertising.
  • A Communicator and Collaborator:  You thrive on the experience of communicating with all business levels, including executive management; event sales experience a definite asset. You’re recognized for your ability to work within a collaborative team environment and manage external vendors and venue contacts.
  • Travel Flexibility: You have a valid driver’s license with a clean abstract and ability to travel within BC (subject to public health protocols).
