Our goal is to make the Manufacturing Industry a safer place to work by creating a culture of safety wherein every worker safely returns home to his/her family each night. The Manufacturing Safety Alliance of BC (“the Alliance”) was established to reduce injuries in the industry. We serve a demographic of over 3000 manufacturers in BC and employ a professional team of health & safety specialists to support our members. We deliver a range of occupational health & safety advisory services, resources, training, and provide the Occupational Safety Standard Program for the Manufacturing industry in BC. We are a not-for-profit industry organization passionate about what we do and how we impact people every day. Job Summary

The Projects Coordinator is responsible for coordinating key projects impacting the manufacturing industry aligned with the Alliance’s goal of making the manufacturing industry a safer place to work.

This position reports to the Chief Projects Officer (CPO) and works closely with the Research Associate; and provides administration and organizational support to help deliver major projects efficiently.

Key Results Areas:

  • Administer and organize all projects led by the CPO
  • Prepare and draft project bids and proposals
  • Competent writing ability including edit skills with role to edit and review projects reports and related documents
  • Liaise with clients to identify and define requirements, scope and objectives
  • Competent in governance and ensure due process as outlined in policy and terms of reference
  • Organize, attend and participate in stakeholder meetings
  • Document and follow up actions and decisions on all meetings
  • Maintain and monitor project plans and project schedules to ensure timely completion
  • Coordinate project management activities, resources, equipment and information
  • Act as the point of contact and communicate project status to all participants
  • Ensure projects adhere to frameworks; create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports
  • Assess project risks and issues and provide solutions where applicable
  • Stakeholder relations and coordination of communication

  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least 2 years’ experience in related field or equivalent education and experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, database programs and related software, and social media tools
  • Corporate writing qualifications or equivalent caliber demonstration of written communication skills and experience
  • Project management qualifications or equivalent experience including scheduling and development of detailed project plans
  • Office administration education and experience or equivalent including organizational skills, multitasking and time-management
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work on tight deadlines


  • Manufacturing industry experience
  • Occupational health & safety knowledge, education and experience
