Research supports higher safety performance in OSSE certified companies

In 2017, Dr. Sean Tucker, an occupational health and safety researcher at the University of Regina, compared the time-loss injury rate average of manufacturing companies before and after Occupational Safety Standard of Excellence (OSSE) certification.

An analysis of WorkSafeBC safety performance data between 2009-2017 revealed close to a 50% reduction in time-loss injury rates for OSSE certified companies from three years before certification to three years after becoming OSSE certified.
