CME / WorkSafeBC Educational Panel Sessions

As part of WorkSafeBC’s inspection initiatives, officers in the province are inspecting manufacturing workplaces to reduce serious injury and fatal injury rates in the manufacturing industry. The majority of the orders given to employers are related to machine lock-out procedures and safeguarding. In this workshop you will learn how to control the risks related to equipment lock-out and safeguarding. We will also discuss some of the changes proposed for Part 12: Tools, Machinery and Equipment of the occupational health & safety regulation.

Manufacturing High Risk Strategy Status Report 20 min Learn what is the Manufacturing High Risk Strategy and how to prepare for an inspection.
Safeguarding Machinery and Equipment Training 30 min Learn where to start and what to do to safeguard machinery at your workplace.
Safeguarding Machinery and Equipment Workshop 20 min Have a hands-on experience on how a machine risk assessment is performed.
Break 10 min
Machine Lock-out Training 30 min Learn what are the main components of a lock-out program and some recommendations on how to implement it at your workplace.
Part 12 proposed changes panel discussion 10 min Learn what are the proposed changes to Part 12 of the Occupational Health & Safety Regulation.
