The responsibilities of a manufacturing supervisor can be daunting, especially as it relates to responsibilities surrounding occupational health and safety. Due diligence is the level of judgement, care and action that a supervisor should be reasonably expected to perform under particular circumstances and this information session will inform supervisors on what their legal responsibilities are in keeping their workers safe.

MSI Prevention Awareness
A musculoskeletal injury (MSI) is an injury or disorder of the muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints, nerves, blood vessels or related soft tissue including a sprain, strain and inflammation, that may be caused or aggravated by work.
The MSI Prevention information session will identify some of the most common sources of MSI injuries and ways to implement changes within your workplace to reduce the likelihood of future claims.

WHMIS 2015 Awareness
Canada has implemented WHMIS 2015, a national chemical classification and hazard communication standard for workplace chemicals. The Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS 2015) incorporates the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (or GHS) for workplace chemicals.
This information session will summarize the key requirements for manufacturers and participants will take away an increased knowledge of the steps necessary to be compliant with WHMIS 2015.

Personal protective equipment (PPE) is the protective clothing, helmets, goggles, or other garments designed to protect a workers body from injury in the workplace. However, PPE isn’t always effective if the workers’ PPE is the wrong fit or function and completely useless when not worn at all.
This information session will include tips on how to encourage workers to make wearing PPE a habit. Visual aids and examples of proper PPE will be a part of this session.
