Musculoskeletal injury (MSI) prevention
A musculoskeletal injury (MSI) is a leading type of workplace injury in many industries. Examples of MSIs include ankle sprains, muscle strains, carpal tunnel syndrome, etc. According to the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, employers must identify any factors in the workplace that may put workers at risk for MSIs.
Your MSI prevention program must include:
- Documented risk identification and assessment
- Risk control measures
- Training and supervision of all workers at-risk
- Consultation with the worker health and safety representative
