It’s the employer responsibility to inspect the workplace.  It’s the Joint Health and Safety Committee's responsibility to participate in the inspection.  How else does the JHSC assist the employer with inspections and the inspection program?

In this presentation we will look at the role of the JHSC as outlined by the requirements of the Workers Compensation Act (RSBC 2019) and the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation  (B.C. Reg 296/97). We will introduce you to a rating system for inspection program.  Is your company at level 1 with No Awareness for the need for inspection? Is your company at level 5 with a Well-Established inspection program including observations inspection?  How do we get from level 1 to level 5?

Understand the need for an inspection policy and program and the elements to include in these items.  This includes discussing the need for reporting hazards, and the training of inspectors.

And take away examples of inspection forms and their application that you can put to work.
