Alex Mitchell is a seasoned communicator and public affairs professional with a decade of combined communications, public affairs, and economic development expertise. Alex works with clients across Canada in the public and private sector on crisis communications, public engagement in politically sensitive circumstances, media relations, issues management, and corporate communications strategy.
She is also trained in incident command having served in numerous public information roles in emergency operations centers and has helped develop comprehensive crisis communications plans and response strategies with clients like Technical Safety British Columbia (TSBC) and Vancouver International Airport (YVR).
Prior to joining Hill+Knowlton Strategies, Alex was responsible for media relations and intergovernmental strategy for one of British Columbia’s fastest growing cities, garnering a keen understanding of how to effectively speak to government and advance complex initiatives, while building positive and effective relationships with the Provincial and Federal governments.
Alex brings a robust understanding of intergovernmental affairs and advocacy with a strategic approach that is informed by her previous roles in the municipal economic development space, with a focus on sector development in clean technology, agriculture, and ag-tech.
