Alyssa is an Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Coordinator at the BC Federation of Labour’s Health & Safety Centre and a proud member of the United Steelworker’s (USW) Union Local 2009. She holds a degree in Psychology, a certification in Effective Responses to Mental Health in the Workplace, and is certified through the Mental Health Commission of Canada as a Mental Health First Aid Facilitator.
Alyssa’s career began in social services where she learned first-hand the importance of psychological health and safety in the workplace. In her current role as an OHS Coordinator she facilitates a variety of health and safety courses (including Women’s OHS) for joint health and safety committee members, and is a passionate advocate for empowering workers to make positive changes to improve safety at work.
