As the Innovation Director, Brock’s responsibilities within Cermaq Canada include the overseeing of occupational health and safety for the organization and leading the innovation team.

As a large salmon farming company, Cermaq has the complexity from large scale infrastructure to digital platforms that need project management, contractor coordination and procurement. In his role, Brock does all that plus integrates the day-to-day planning of the OHS and the innovation departments.

Brock’s background blends the operational and production knowledge with safety. He has experience working in the industry from a technician to a team leader, membership in Cermaq’s JHSC, and participation in the development and maintenance of Cermaq’s safety management system. He has a unique understanding of what influences safety within Cermaq Canada.

Brock’s role is supported by over 25 years of production and operational experience anchored by a degree in Biology from the University of Victoria, Advanced Diploma in Aquaculture from the Marine Institute of Memorial University of Newfoundland and Advanced Business Management Diploma from Athabasca University.
