Emily Taylor is a Biology Technician at Creative Salmon, located in unceded Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation territory in Tofino. Creative Salmon farms Chinook salmon and is Canada’s first certified organic salmon farm. Emily holds a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology and joined the Creative Salmon team in Spring 2024. In her role, Emily supports environmental monitoring, fish health assessments, and the company’s commitment to sustainable and organic aquaculture practices.
As a constituency representative and Employee Co-Chair of Creative’s Joint Health and Safety Committee, Emily plays an active role in promoting a strong safety culture, hazard identification and control suggestions, site inspections, and helping to ensure worker health and safety is integrated into day-to-day operations. Emily also coordinates the company’s Safety Data Sheets tracking. Emily brings a science-based, frontline perspective to workplace safety and is passionate about collaboration, prevention, and continuous improvement in health and safety.
