Tierra Lavery

Originally from the island of Molokai in Hawaii, Tierra believes in living and leading with 'aloha' in all that she does. As a versatile HR and health and safety professional, her focus remains on continued development and exploring new ways to improve the employee experience and workplace culture for employers. Today, she leads People and Culture for Driftwood Brewery and consults for Reimagine Work on Vancouver Island.

A Chartered Professional in HR (CPHR) Tierra is an HR generalist with experience across several industries including retail, manufacturing, construction, tourism and hospitality, and transportation. With recruitment, health and safety, and career coaching at the forefront of my areas of expertise, she is passionate about health and safety.

Tierra has built health and safety programs from the ground up for employers of all sizes. Her experience and training is in health and safety program administration, safety culture and engagement, workplace inspections, and audits—including leading one employer to COR certification to the Occupational Safety Standard of Excellence.

With her passion for promoting diversity through community building and culture, she frequently volunteers at local events in Victoria and performs at festivals as a Polynesian dancer with the Pearls of the South Pacific dance group.
