Best Practices Before, During, and After a Disability for a Successful Return to Work

When an employee needs an employer-supported disability or medical leave, their leader has a significant impact on their experience before, during and after their leave from work. Leaders learn how to empower their employees to take the lead on how to stay in touch, what leaders and co-workers can and can not say to employees, and how to plan for a successful return to work.

When leaders are prepared to lead an employee through the leave process, the results translate to an increase in productivity, performance, engagement, and retention for the employee and the team, and can positively impact the employee’s recovery.
