Workshop: JHSC Participation in Workplace Inspections

Inspection is one key task that the Joint Health and Safety Committee does to identify hazards in the workplace, recommend corrective action, and ensure completion.  In this practical workshop, learn the keys to committee involvement in effective workplace inspections  for safety committee members. More than that, learn new ways to follow up on completed inspections to ensure action! 

This workshop will review the Workers Compensation Act and Occupational Health and Safety Regulations requirements for inspection.

• Review the purpose and benefits of a workplace inspection—and understand five levels of an inspection program, so that you evaluate where your inspection program is at.
• Learn to apply the 5S methodology to organize your work location, making it safer easier to inspect.
• Develop a workplace-specific inspection form.

This workshop will involve plenty of group discussion and activities, so come ready to participate.
