Hearing Conservation

Hearing Conservation is an awareness-level course that helps learners understand the importance of hearing conservation and how to protect themselves from hearing impairment.

Students will need to complete all 3 course elements (Learning ComponentQuiz and Course Evaluation) to be able to download their certificate of completion

This self-paced course will take about 1-2 hours to complete.

Students do not need complete the entire course in one sitting as the self-paced course format allows them to continue from wherever they left off.

Goals and Objectives

The goal of this course is to help leaner understand the importance of hearing conservation and how to protect themselves from hearing impairment.

Audience

This course is for anyone at a manufacturing facility who may be affected by occupational noise; this could include frontline workers, supervisors, or managers.

To attend this training session, participants must have:

  • basic computer skills (keyboard, mouse, internet)
  • access to a laptop/desktop computer or iPad/tablet to attend this training session; this course can be viewed on a Smart Phone, however it has only been optimized for tablet and desktop computers
  • for best course experience, it is recommended to use a wired internet connect and a recently updated internet browser on a desktop or tablet
  • a good internet or WIFI connection

Previous occupational health and safety education and experience is an asset but not required.

On completion, participants will be awarded a Certificate of Completion.

Eligible toward the requirements for Joint Health and Safety Committee training for new members or annual training in British Columbia; may be eligible in other jurisdictions as well.
