Industrial Robot Safety

This course is designed to provide learners with the knowledge to recognize, assess, and control hazards related to industrial robot and collaborative applications.

Goals and Objectives

By the end of this course, the learner should:

  • Differentiate between the different types and classifications of industrial robots and common industrial robot applications, including collaborative applications
  • Identify relevant robot safety legislation and standards
  • Recognize industrial robot and collaborative robot application hazards
  • Identify how to assess industrial robot and collaborative application hazards
  • Identify how to control industrial robots and collaborative application hazards
  • Recognize how to verify and validate the effectiveness of the risk reduction measures for the industrial robot and collaborative application

Audience

This course is intended for owners, managers, supervisors, OHS practitioners, and any personnel who may be involved in implementing industrial robot applications in the manufacturing sector.

Course Length and Format

This eLearning course is structured using self-paced online components including various practical learning activities in each module. Modules are supported with various resources and examples. It is estimated to take 3 hours to complete the training. We recommend completing the course in one sitting, but it does not need to be, as your progress will be tracked throughout.

Participants must have access to a laptop/desktop computer or iPad/tablet to attend the training sessions. A good internet or WIFI connection is essential.

Pre-requisites

  • Previous health and safety education or experience is an asset but not required.
    Completion of the Hazard Identification and Control course is preferred.

Course Evaluation

There is a written assessment for this course. Upon successful completion of all course modules and the written assessment, learners will be awarded a Certificate of Completion.
