The course will educate participants on how to effectively conduct a workplace inspection to meet and exceed the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Regulation and WorkSafeBC legislation.
This course is structured as a half-day course but can be modified to meet content and duration requirements.
This course is designed for managers, supervisors, members of the Joint Health and Safety committee, worker health and safety representatives, or employees otherwise delegated with incident investigation responsibilities.
Previous health and safety education and/or experience is an asset but not required.
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Describe the OHS legal compliance requirements pertaining to workplace inspections
- Understand how to conduct effective and meaningful workplace inspections
- Be able to identify areas or conditions that are hazardous and needing inspection
- Report and make recommendations
