Gavin is a food industry leader who has held a variety of technical and senior management positions throughout his career.

Gavin attributes his passion for the food Industry to his family history in the food and dairy industry. Born in Northern Ireland he studied culinary arts and moved to Scotland to complete a BSc in Food Science and Technology from the Scottish Agricultural College.

Coming to Canada in 2008, Gavin joined Sandel Foods as Research and Development Manager, later joining Lucerne Foods (Agropur Dairy) as Plant Supervisor. His career developed within Agropur in Edmonton and Toronto before he entered the Pet Nutrition sector as Operations Manager with Champion Pet Food at their flagship 400,000 sq ft facility in Edmonton, Alberta. Following the closing of Pet Nutrition’s acquisition of Champion by Mars’ Petcare Division, Gavin accepted the challenge presented by expanding fresh salad leader Vegpro International as Plant Manager in Vernon, BC.

Gavins’ product experience is particularly diverse, covering dairy, snack food, bakery ingredients, prepared foods and fresh retail salads. Functionally, he has been responsible for, Product Development, Plant and Operations Management, Continuous Improvement and strategic planning.

Beyond the corporate world Gavin is the Principal of Redpath Strategies, a boutique food consultancy assisting enterprises’ productivity and profitability.

Gavin has two sons and lives with his wife Hayley in Vernon, BC.
