Member Surveys

The Manufacturing Safety Alliance of BC surveys members of the BC food & beverage processing and manufacturing industry to determine the industry’s view of their needs for health and safety information and how best to provide for their needs.

Every three years, WorkSafeBC also conducts a survey of selected members of all B.C. health and safety associations. Those market penetration survey results from Alliance members are shared here.

In 2025, the survey shows that the Alliance retained the awareness gains that were particularly notable in 2022 following three exceptional years of engagement around pandemic controls and support for workers in industries that never shut down. Despite notable increases in advisory activity, event and training participation since 2022, the 2025 survey does not reflect growth in overall awareness of the Alliance—perhaps in part a reflection of employers’ shift in focus from the pandemic focus on health and safety to new concerns around tariffs and increasing costs.

Among the takeaways from the 2025 member survey:

  • Reinforcement of the need to expand outreach not only for general awareness and support, but also to confirm communication contact details and preferences.
  • Continued commitment to regular updates on regulatory changes and relevant resources to support members’ health and safety needs and compliance concerns.
  • Expanded promotion new mental health resources, training, and related services launched in recent years to broaden awareness of the support available to members in this area.
  • Ongoing focus on value to membership, in all areas of resource, training, services, and event delivery.
