About the project
The Manufacturing Safety Alliance of BC is working with industry, mental health, academic, government, and labour experts to develop a mental health strategy for the manufacturing sector.
This strategy and plan will define a way forward to enable employers to integrate psychological health and safety into their OHS management systems.
Manufacturing Sector Mental Health Strategy
Workplace mental health has emerged as a top priority for British Columbia manufacturers. Manufacturing leaders across the province recognize that post-COVID economic recovery depends on a mentally healthy workforce able to cope with relentless change. Leaders clearly recognize that today, employers’ duty of care includes both physical and mental health. In response, the Alliance is launching the Manufacturing Sector Mental Health Strategy.
The Executive Brief outlines the strategic outcomes, vision, mission, and goals for the Manufacturing Sector Mental Health Strategy project and steering committee. The aim of this important project is to create psychologically healthy workplaces in the manufacturing sector with a focus on health and well-being. To do this, we are applying a systematic approach to develop and implement a mental health strategy for the sector.
This document lays out our mental health strategy for the manufacturing sector. A three-year action plan defines how we will collaborate with members and other partners in developing the resources necessary to create psychologically healthy and safe workplaces and supporting workers who are experiencing mental health challenges.
