To better serve our OSSE-Certified members, a simplified Icon has been developed for use on small or space limited areas such as labels, packaging, and point of purchase (POP) displays.
This simplified Icon allows for the text* to sit below or beside the Icon and still be legible at smaller sizes (minimum 1 cm diameter).
* Occupational Safety Standard of Excellence
If room permits, include also “BC Manufacturing Safety Standard and/or Protecting Workers”
It is up to the user to determine what colour the Icon appears, provided it show up clearly. The Icon can simply “knock-out” of a dark background colour, or printed in black or other dark colour on a light background. The type should be set in a standard sans serif font, such as Helvetica, Arial or Verdana, no smaller than 6 pt.
Certified companies can proudly display the OSSE Certification Mark. Icon and Seal. The official Gold OSSE Seal is reserved for use on official documents such as Certificates or in special displays or presentations.
Use is granted only to companies that have been certified through the Manufacturing Safety Alliance of BC. A unique certification number(s), which identifies the company as an OSSE certified company through the Alliance, will accompany the Seal. This number must be included in the non-product usage of the Seal so as to clearly identify the facilities that have achieved this standard. There is no requirement to include the certification number when using the Mark or Icon on products as long as the facility where the product is manufactured can be easily identified and is OSSE certified.
The Certificate Seal signifies to employees, visitors, and business partners that this company is committed to the health and safety of its workers, and to eliminating serious injuries in the manufacturing sector.
For general branding and marketing purposes, the Mark can appear on any dark or light solid background. Choose the version with the most contrast.
Digital files are distributed to companies that have received OSSE Certification in three file formats: JPG, PNG, and EPS. JPG and PNG are for general office and web use, while EPS is the common file type requested by design and print industry professionals.
- The JPG has a white background behind it. It can be used in word processing documents with a white background. Intended for in-house laser and inkjet printing applications and electronic document distribution.
- The PNG has a transparent background, making it ideal for placing over top of a solid coloured background, and for screen-view applications, such as web pages, PDF read-only documents and PowerPoint presentations.
- The EPS is a vector format used for professional printing and design. It is can be recoloured to match your branding and scaled up or down without losing image resolution and can be used for large format printing (i.e. signs or banners).
Minimum size
The Mark must be sized proportionally (not stretched or squished) and sized in a manner that preserves the legibility of the mark’s text elements in screen and presentation settings. The outer full circle in the mark should not be printed smaller than 2 cm in diameter
