They collect food waste and by-products from food producers, like farms, restaurants and supermarkets, transforming them in ingredients used in renewable energy, animal feed, and thousands of other products they use every day. their efforts contribute to a sustainable local food supply, and help us all live in cleaner and healthier communities.
West Coast Reduction Ltd. established Island Processing Company in 1969 as a depot in Westholme. Operations moved in 1999 to Duke Point when a new fish processing plant was built. This plant supports the hake fisheries and aquaculture industry as well as collecting used cooking oil on Vancouver Island.
Processing primarily fish, our Nanaimo plant operates a low temperature rendering system specifically designed for fish.
