In Memory of Elaine Wolfson
With heavy hearts, we learned this week of the passing of partner and friend Elaine Wolfson, following a brief illness.
A force in the health and safety community, Elaine was passionate about her work as a Canadian Registered Safety Professional; the company she founded, Thompson Nicola Training; and the clients she served as a trainer and external auditor.
A safety professional for more than 30 years, Elaine was a valued partner to the Manufacturing Safety Alliance of BC and other health and safety associations—and to our members in their journey to achieve and maintain Occupational Safety Standard of Excellence / COR certification.
With an extensive background in mining manufacturing, Elaine’s training business included emergency response training for that sector as well as training for St. John Ambulance and Canadian Red Cross. In partnership with four certifying partner associations, Elaine conducted health and safety audits for well over one hundred BC businesses.
Chair of the Canadian Society for Safety Engineers chapter in the Thompson Okanagan for 15 years, Elaine was an active member since 1985.
Our condolences are with her husband and children, her large extended family in Winnipeg and Vancouver—and her many clients and associates.
