Safety Advisor and Combustible Dust Specialist
Lorne has been with the Alliance for five years and brings extensive experience in heavy and residential construction, mining, sawmills, and biofuel industries. He has been involved in firefighting, mine rescue, and mobile equipment training. He also has experience liaising with the government at the provincial and federal levels.
Before joining the Manufacturing Safety Alliance of BC, he was the Director of Safety and Environment for a global biofuel company.
Lorne supports clients with their safety concerns – including helping to train and coach staff and identify opportunities for improvement. He enjoys meeting interesting people in his work and helping our members to solve problems across a broad spectrum of industries.
After graduating from Okanagan College with a Civil Engineering Technology diploma, Lorne became a certified Canadian Registered Safety Professional in 2010.
Lorne advises companies to “Get out on the floor and talk to your team. They understand where the production issues are and where there are production issues, there are safety issues. Fix the safety issues, and you will solve the production problems.”
