Road Safety at Work Program Director Louise Yako has extensive leadership experience in the transportation and safety sector. Formerly President and CEO of the BC Trucking Association, a non-partisan, non-profit advocacy organization representing about 1200 companies in BC, her experience in industry-government initiatives include a variety of subjects ranging from public safety to human resources to the environment. 

Louise has also served as a board member for a number of organizations including WorkSafeBC, the Greater Vancouver Gateway Council, the Asia-Pacific Gateway Skills Table, and the Canadian Trucking Alliance. Louise has a Combined Honours Bachelor of Journalism with Political Science from Carleton University and an MBA from UBC.
