TOOLBOX TALK

Pallet Jack | Electric

Both manual and electric pallet jacks have similar risks: workers can be injured if hands and feet get into the pinch point of the machine. However, electric pallet jacks have an electric propulsion system (aka self-propelled and motor-powered), which introduces new and different risks. Operators can drive the machine and pin themselves against a stationary object and the machine; a pallet jack can flip if turned quickly while being driven; or batteries can explode. Use this Toolbox Talk to discuss what hazards, risks, and preventative actions may be in place at your workplace for electric pallet jack safety.
