Virtual Panel | Safety from the Ground Up

December 4th, 2024 10:00-11:00AM

In 2023, the Manufacturing Safety Alliance of BC found that companies certified with the Occupational Safety Standard of Excellence program have a 30% lower injury rate compared to non-certified manufacturers in BC.

Join us for an insightful webinar as we start to explore how implementing effective OHS management systems can not only enhance workplace safety but also drive overall business success. For this month’s webinar, we have business and safety leaders from companies at various stages of Occupational Safety Standard of Excellence (OSSE) certification joining us to share strategies learned from their ongoing journey towards improved safety.

Attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of the key components of successful OHS management systems that propel ongoing strategies for continuous improvement. By implementing these systems effectively, through programs like OSSE, organizations can create safer work environments, reduce accidents and incidents, and mitigate legal and financial risks.

Moreover, we will explore how a strong safety culture, fostered by proactive OHS management, can positively impact employee morale, productivity, and retention.

Drawing on real-world examples and case studies, our panelists will illustrate how successfully integrating OHS management systems into their operations, can result in improved safety performance and tangible business outcomes. Whether you are a safety professional, business leader, or OHS practitioner, this webinar offers valuable insights into leveraging OHS management systems to drive both safety excellence and business success.

In this webinar you will learn

  • Learn how a good OHS management system can improve and protect your business’ profitability
  • Understand the components of an OHS management system
  • Learn more about the Occupational Safety Standard of Excellence program and how it can help organizations reach their business goals

Webinar Q&A

Currently, we don’t know of any cross-industry events (i.e. events between different industries including construction) that provides best practices and learnings, however, all Make It Safe Health and Safety Conferences (MIS) have specific workshops relating to best practices for health and safety in manufacturing that provide opportunities for members to connect and share their own learnings with each other. All upcoming MIS conferences will also have specific sessions about OSSE/COR in manufacturing.
