Research by Ontario’s Workplace Safety and Insurance Board has shown that if a worker is not back on the job within 90 days of an injury, the chances they will ever return to work drop by 50 percent. After a year, notes the Canadian Society of Professionals in Disability Management, only 20% return to the job.
